Once offloaded from the barge, it was placed on a short 6-axle drawbar modular trailer for local movement, and once it had arrived it was placed on stools for temporary storage.

Dimensions were as follows:

Length 1050cm x width 560cm x height 440cm, 60,000kg.

New Ducting for Power Station

07 September 2009

Van der Vlist UK recently transported new, 5.6m wide, ducting from India, via Antwerp, to the site in East Yorkshire.

The ducting was planned to be transported on our low loaders from Antwerp directly into Hull.  However, owing to the height of the pieces,    we needed special permission from the Highways Agency, which was granted, to enable us to drive the loads on our vehicles via road       from Killingholme to Hull.

Upon arrival in Hull, the cargo was transhipped into a barge and taken directly down the River Humber to the site.  The pieces arrived         on time, as planned.
