Van der Vlist has recently taken care of a long haul delivery of a Wirtgen W2200, a 55,000kg Drum Milling machine, used for mining asphalt, which was taken from Pennsylvania, USA to Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Van der Vlist arranged for a trusted partner in the USA to take the 16.9 metre long machine from Folcroft in south eastern Pennsylvania to Baltimore, Maryland. It was then shipped across to Amsterdam, where a Van der Vlist truck picked it up to take it to it’s destination in the Utrecht area of the Netherlands, where it can begin work.
The long arm of the machine meant that a truck with a short cab was required for the job, although at 4.50 metres wide and 3.15 metres tall it fit on the back of a 5 axle semi-low loader. The delivery of this highly specialised machine means that Van der Vlist’s client can now work much more efficiently than other asphalt milling companies.
