We close this months newsletter with a thank you to Henk den Burger.
Henk started work at Van der Vlist on the 2nd of August 1967 when he was a young boy of 16, just making his way into the world of work. Henk lived with his parents opposite the original Van der Vlist premises in Hoogblokland and was initially employed as a trainee. He started his career maintaining the car and truck parking facilities and progressed as a vehicle mechanic looking after the Van der Vlist fleet of trucks and trailers.
When Henk was 18, he passed his truck driving qualifications to assist with his vehicle knowledge and also to allow him to provide additional capacity during holidays and peak seasons on some of the shorter or local transports.
Over the years, through continuous training and on the job experience, Henk became and remains one of our most knowledgeable technical staff, equally at home under a tractor unit, in the paint booth or assembling and modifying dump trucks and excavators for our valued clients!
Dirk van der Vlist commented “Van der Vlist has always been a family business that prides itself on the long lasting relationships developed with employees, all part of the Van der Vlist family. Henk has always been very trustworthy and reliable and a font of knowledge for our trainee mechanics! We would like to thank and congratulate Henk on his 45 years of service and his continued loyalty to Van der Vlist ».
