The Van der Vlist Transport Group is currently gearing up for Intermat, one of the highlights of the exhibition calendar for the construction equipment industry. The event, based in Paris runs from the 16th to the 21st of April and is a key event for Van der Vlist Technical Services (VTS).
The event is well represented by all the main manufacturers, meaning there is a requirement to transport, assemble and inspect anything from a mini excavator to large dump trucks for mining and quarrying. The solution that the Van der Vlist Transport Group are able to offer starts with the arrival of equipment at European Ports and ends with either the return of the machines to the manufacture or delivery to the end customer after the exhibition.
On arrival, VTS take control of the equipment to carry out an initial inspection along with the preparation of customs documentation. There is then an element of transport and temporary storage at one of the Van der Vlist storage yards in either Holland or Belgium where any potential repairs, maintenance or re-paint and touch up work can be carried out followed by a final pre- delivery inspection.
Utilising Van der Vlist Special and Heavy trucks and trailers, the equipment is then delivered to the exhibition where a team of 7 VTS mechanics are on site to unload, assemble and position the machines on their respective exhibition spaces. A final touch up, clean and inspection is then carried out to ensure the machines are ready to be displayed to the high standards that the manufacturers require.
After a successful show, the team of mechanics from VTS return to site to disassemble the machines and assist in reloading to Van der Vlist vehicles where they are either returned to the manufacturer or, if sold during the exhibition, transported to the clients European location. For overseas clients, Van der Vlist Logistics can also assist with exports.
In total, Van der Vlist are handling around 90 transports for Intermat 2012. With our presence on site, we aim to grow this year on year. For more information about Van der Vlist Techinal services, please call +31 184 606 600 or email email@example.com.
