Long trailer for some long transports

Van der Vlist have added a brand new 10 axle semi low trailer to their fleet, upon arrival it was put straight into use, collecting cable reels from Trieste in Italy, for delivery to Zelzate in northern Belgium.

The three reels weighed 92 250kg each, and route surveys needed to be carried out to ensure an appropriate route for the weight, and whilst this was not a problem for the first of the reels, a new route had to be found for the second and third reels, as road works began in Germany.

The length of the route as well as the time of year also slowed the movement, as national holidays halted the journey on multiple days, to make up this time special permits were applied for in order to drive during the weekend. The 4m long, 3,5m wide and 3,6m high reels all arrived safely in Belgium, after travelling the length of Europe, through 5 different countries.
