These days, Europe does not just deal amongst itself, far from it. Recently Van der Vlist has shown this by providing their services in transporting metal presses from central Europe to Casablanca, Morocco.
As they were in parts, the cargo on each of the 12 trucks required was a different size and weight, ranging from smaller parts taken in a tautliner to a semi low loader carrying goods with a 3m width and weighing 32 tonnes. Such long transports to countries like Morocco includes secured parking both at night and over the weekends.
At the same time another project ran concurrently, taking similar presses to Portugal from the same destination, these were transshipped from Zeebrugge to Bilbao, before being taken onwards to their destination.
Transport to countries such as Morocco is becoming a more common activity, with many similar projects taking place over the last few months. Van der Vlist now regularly ship static and self-drive machinery to and from Tangier port, and where necessary they arrange the local Moroccan transport with their trusted partners.
