Van der Vlist have recently completed the shipment of 5 Hitachi EH1100-3 dump trucks, from their Port in Moerdijk, all the way down to the Katanga in The Democratic Republic of Congo.
The machines were shipped in from Canada, when the wheels were dismantled in order to move them across to the Moerdijk site for storage. The 9,45m long, 4,98m wide and 4,62m high vivid orange dumpers were stored in the AEO accredited storage facility.
Once the request to move them was made, Van der Vlist’s Technical Services team set about ensuring that the machines were in the perfect condition upon leaving the site- renewing of the batteries, oils and coolant along with the installation of a lubrication system.
The machines were driven the very short distance to the Ro-Ro berth at Moerdijk, onto the pontoon ‘Jacob-Evert’, which then took them to Antwerp where they were shipped down to Africa, and moved into Katanga, where they will commence work in a copper mine.
