Van der Vlist have been investing in transport of a different type. The special transport and logistics experts have sponsored the Formula Student Team Delft from the Delft University. In doing so they have provided a truck to take their mobile workshop from one race to the next, visiting Silverstone (UK), Hockenheim (Germany) and the Red Bull Ring (Austria).
With the mobile workshop FS Team Delft can produce any part of the car on the spot. The team helps other teams during a competition by producing parts for other universities to ensure everyone can race during the event. The workshop is known as “The Delft Truck” and has produced hundreds of parts last season for many teams.
The two organisations have come together as they share common ground, and not only that a lot of their work involves motors! Both aspire to be the best in their field in a competitive environment. The Formula Student Delft team consists out of approximately 70 students, 60 of which are part-time (next to their study they design and build for the team) and 9 full-time students.
This is the 15th year that they are designing and building a car, joining an international competition and competing against 500 universities from all over the world, last year they finished in 2nd place in the standings, and this year they have eyes on the top spot!
