Transporting Transformers
For some, the word transformers might evoke images of blockbuster movies. But in our business, it’s all about powering the future.
Transformers play an important role in energy transition. They help regulate and distribute electricity efficiently, and in this case, they’re part of a cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) parc in southern Belgium. These systems store renewable energy and release it back into the grid when demand peaks or renewable production dips — ensuring a stable and sustainable power supply.
This project involves transporting 18 high-capacity 4200kVA 33kV/480-480VWilson T2 Ecotrans® Distribution Transformers, from Wilson Power Solutions based in the UK. Van der Vlist coordinated their transport to the Netherlands, where they were temporarily stored before continuing their journey. From there, our iconic orange trucks take over, delivering the transformers safely and efficiently to their final destination.
Once on site, the transformers will be installed alongside 20 Tesla battery packs, forming a robust energy storage infrastructure.
This project is more than logistics — it’s a contribution to a cleaner future. Together, we drive energy transition. Together, we have The Power to Care.
