Global Transport
Thanks to our extensive knowledge of the sector, we offer heavy-lift transport solutions worldwide. We provide door-to-door transport for a wide range of oversized loads and, if required, deliver to a port. With our own fleet in Europe and a global network of trusted partners, we offer high-quality services and comprehensive, bespoke solutions wherever you are. Whether we need to arrange a seagoing vessel, rail transport, an inland waterway vessel or an aircraft, we draw on our experience and specialist know-how anywhere in the world to find the right solution for every transport requirement.
Transport of containers and flat racks
We always strive to make transport as efficient as possible. Our technical service staff can dismantle and reassemble machinery for container transport and secure all cargo using lashing and covering materials. One of our specialities is flat-rack transport. It offers the efficiency of container transport whilst allowing for the carriage of tall, wide or heavy cargo.
Customs and Taxation
Our expertise in customs formalities is of great value to our global multimodal transport operations. We offer overseas clients tax representation and handle customs declarations for the import, export and transit of goods and freight. Thanks to our contacts with various authorities, we are able to offer a comprehensive service package.
Ro-Ro transport
We organise roll-on/roll-off transport of mobile equipment and lorries to ports all over the world. For freight transport by water, we offer the option of sea freight or inland waterway transport. Together with our trusted partners, we organise transhipment and onward transport by road.
Rail transport in Europe
We have developed specialised platforms that enable us to transport narrow-gauge freight via existing rail links designed for containers. We are also able to supply swap bodies for in-gauge loads. Van der Vlist is actively investigating and expanding the number of rail corridors to increase the rail network’s reach.
Pre-transport and post-transport can also be organised using Van der Vlist’s own fleet, including electric forklift trucks, and in collaboration with trusted logistics partners. By utilising multiple modes of transport, emissions can be significantly reduced, potentially by up to 85 per cent.
